Students and staff at Rushcliffe Spencer Academy are celebrating after being judged Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in their first inspection since February 2014. Inspectors visited the Academy on 13th and 14th May 2025 and have written a very positive report which showcases much of the excellent work that takes place at the school.

On Wednesday 20th November, Rushcliffe Sixth Form hosted an MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) evening to prepare our year 13 students for the selection process they will face in applying to study Medicine or Dentistry. MMIs are often considered to be the ‘final hurdle’ in achieving offers for medical school.

Last term, forty Year 12 students travelled to Cambridge University for a HE+ visit. Students, who may not have considered applying for an Oxbridge University, were both inspired and reassured throughout a fantastic, informative day.
Last month we were able to question a crossbench peer from the House of Lords, Baroness Finlay. Our Year 12 and 13 politics students grilled her on a number of subjects about her role in the House of Lords and whether the House of Lords needs significant reform in a 21st century democracy. We were also able to get her views on the impact of Brexit, worldwide conflicts like Gaza and Ukraine, immigration as well as medical questions.
